Anniversary Gift: A Pinky Promise

My Boyfriend and I celebrated our 4th Anniversary last August 2014. We exchange letters and he gave me this poem, well. Since before I observed that he has a talent on writing such.


As all you know, we just met in an online game and it was Ragnarok Online it was February 2010, I was 4th year high school and he was 3rd year college in UST. We met in a mall somewhere in Marikina and I can still see vividly what had happened during that time. It was epic actually.


Since I'm already graduating during that time, I took my entrance exam in UE. I passed and studied there for 1 year. We always see each other in LRT Legarda station, we had lunch together. Sometimes he will join me until LRT Katipunan station and will get back to Legarda to come to his school.


Now he is working, and I'm soon to be graduated in my college. 4 years had passed and we're still counting.

The Plan

and it seems he's got no clues.

To meet, she found him.

he was lost and can't be found

but she did find him

running, confused...like hound,

All he wanted was,

to find the right path in life.

but it came to pass..

instead, he found a fruit...ripe,

His heart starts to beat.

and there she was to keep it..

slowly and slowy,

they fallen in love deeply.

There comes some problems

they knew it could come to them

they surely stayed strong,

and they lasted for so long..

And until the end,

they treat each other, a friend..

who could never leave,

and see the others grieve..

The first time I've read this poem. I cried, (well I'm easy to cry and very sensitive to everything). This poem has a matching drawing. The drawing is a pinkie promise however since the paper is small he wasn't able to draw the other hand. We always do that thing, haha. Maybe because pink is my favorite color. But anyway, the poem has a very deep meaning. We undergone so many challenges, there was a point that he cried in front of my mother because we broke up for some reasons.

There are times that you don't have to give a very expensive gift. Actually you will more appreciate things if he/she did it with all his/her heart, without the essence of money. Gift is not about money, it's the effort that counts. At the same time, I want us to preserve the significance of "love letter" because I guess only few people are still doing it nowadays.

Up-to-date: Social Media in Schools

We all agreed that Social Media and Technology nowadays are very popular not only in the Philippines but in other country as well. There are also times that they are more hi-tech compared to our country.


Most of my professors and even parents took their college during 1970s-1990s. They were able to experience lots of hard work especially if they are going to make a Thesis.


One of the Principles of Education says that homework is the continuation of learning. But nowadays, you can see your homework and you can pass them through Facebook, Twitter, Edmodo and many other social media. Unlike before, once there is a homework you need to be passed them on the same time with the same day.

When I saw this picture on Google, I realized that they're both sleepy. Then I guess it's because during 1960s you only have books to read just to finish your homework, term papers, projects, reflection papers, feasibility study and even thesis. But now, you only have 1 click to finish them all, very easy isn't it? It makes our life easier, however, the student from 2013 tends to be sleepy because they have so many things to do with their laptop such as playing online, chatting with friends, video calling with friends and many more things. Due to their addiction students will sleep late at night and the results would be late in class.

CONS about Social Media and Technology

Most of the people in high school what they do after class is to go to any computer shop nearby. They used to play Dota, Facebook, youtube, and many more. That's why Computer shops are very rampant nowadays, because many people are patronizing them.


But through Social Media; a lot of posers, lots of scammers and lots of bashers came out. The create negative things and abuse the use of technology that what we have now.


Also, some students are now able to do "cutting classes" because of the technology and social media, they are desperate to play online and to do stuffs with the computer. Due to this instance, they might be failed in class.


Most of the students no longer support books as a reference to answer their homework. Instead, they use Google, Yahoo or any website where the answer keys are there.


For those students who don't have internet connection at home will have a hard time to submit their homework. Especially when the computer shop nearby is full.

PROS about Social Media and Technology

Simply makes our life easier, you can search everything instantly.


We are up-to-date on what's happening in our world. Like the Ice Bucket Challenge, Make-up Transformation and many more.


We can do multi-tasking at a time. Like typing a reflection paper, chatting with friends and doing a research. Also, it makes us attached to our loved ones. Especially if our parents or relatives are in abroad we may contact them via voice call or video call.


We can easily search words in less than a minute without having a hard time.


If students didn't get the lesson especially in Mathematics, they are able to watch it in Youtube. They are also How To's in the said website which they can apply into their daily lives.

Therefore....

Social Media or Technology have positive and negative feedback. I guess everything has pros and cons so the nature would be balance. As the Yin and Yang do.


What is the best thing to do is to teach our children or students on how to manage the technology. We should not abuse them, we should use it in a right way for "everybody" not a right way for "oneself".


Also, we should not always depend on Technology, because it also fails. We must have a Plan A and Plan B for everything.

Food 101: New Trends in Food

Based on my observation, fast food is no longer popular here in the Philippines compared before. Because there are many stores already that offer instant food yet healthy, affordable snacks and captures the taste buds of the people. First on my list, is the MILKTEA!

I guess we are very much familiar with this because we see it everywhere isn't it? Also, the name of the shops are very attracting as well like, CelebriTEA , InfiniTEA, and I guess all words that end in "ty" will be written as Tea. Also, since it is very popular nowadays, you can buy it anywhere some are affordable some are a bit expensive. 

But what other people don't like is the taste of the tea, but don't worry they also offer other flavors. It also comes with pearls, which is good for chewing and some crystals or Nata de coco. 

Second on my list would be GRAHAM BALLS!

If you are very fond of grahams like me then this one is perfect for you. You can make your own because this snack is very easy to make because it's NO BAKE goodie.

You can also put some toppings and chocolate inside the ball. This goodie is perfect for the kids or even adults they both surely like it. It's very soft, tasty, not too sweet. Perfect for weekend bonding with your kids or siblings. 

The usual size for this is like a 5-peso coin, very fluffy and great for thanksgiving gift.

Third on my list would be OREO CHEESECAKE! 

Yummeyy! We're now done in Graham balls, now if you're very fond of Oreo cookies and cream cheese this one is good for you. I've tried this and I can say that it's really a good treat for yourself, friends, and family.

I really like this though I'm not an Oreoholic, but the combination of cream cheese is absolutely heaven~~ You can buy this in online shops for the price range of 150-180 pesos. But don't expect it would be big enough because most of the sellers sell this in Bites version, meaning to say it's smaller than the usual cookie.

The OCB is just as small as 1 peso, very tasty, the sugar level is just enough, you can taste the oreo and cream cheese in one. Typically, it comes in 1 tub for 30 pieces.

If you're interested you may follow the shops where I used to buy this goodie. But I guess they only have an Instagram account. @dosavellano the price is 180php and @oh.so.sweet the price is 150php. But I prefer dosavellano's OCB (Oreo Cheesecake Bites) it tastes really good. Remember that those IG Accts are from the Philippines only. Therefore, they can ship it only in the Philippines for more inquiries you may ask them.




Fourth goodie would be CAKE IN A JAR!


Cake in a jar? Very intrigue isn't it? Well, this goodie is very popular in Instagram. It's in a jar but not totally a cake. Shall we say, Frozen cake. Therefore it's made up of Grahams, cream cheese and other ingredients that will depend on the flavor that you'd chose from.

This is how it looks like. It also comes with a wooden spoon. The price is quiet reasonable. They also have different flavors such as Oreo, Smores, Hershey's, Kitkat, Blueberry and Strawberry, with regards to the price I guess it's 80-180 pesos depends on the Oz you chose. You can buy this from Instagram, these are

My last FOODIE!! It's RED VELVET CRINKLES WITH CREAM CHEESE FILLING!



Woah! The name is very long, but don't worry though the name is long enough the wait is not too much! This goodie is so AMAZING, so SURPRISING! This is my comfort food, my everything, my most requested reward, my happiness and my destiny!

If you are fond of chocolate crinkles, then you will surely fall in love with this! I've been tasted so many RVC (Red Velvet Crinkles) in Instagram due to its popularity, but only 1 brand really stands, and that is Little Bites Red Velvet Crinkles, others sell different fillings such as Bavarian and Dulce de Leche but I wasn't able to like it. This is one of the most popular food in Instagram. You better try this guys!

Two thumbs up for this! What I love about this is that, it's very chewy, very smooth. The smell is unforgettable and for sure you cannot resist with this! It's in a square tub and has 20 pairs, most of the sellers in IG sell this for 150-180 pesos. I've been tried so many RVC already and I can say that some RVCs are not chewy, very sweet and only few amount of cream cheese, which I guess you cannot enjoy what you'd paid for.

Limerick is the Trick!

Wanna know about Limerick? Actually, this is one of the nonsense poems of all time. People make Limericks just to have fun. They said it's nonsense because it doesn't have any meaning at all. Another thing is that, it's nonsense in a positive way like it's funny, it's entertaining and it is still considered as a creative work of art.


It composes of 5-line stanza, the 1st and 5th lines end with the same word. So since it has only 5 lines, I guess it's very easy for us to do one. It also has a rhyme scheme of AABBA.

I have here an example from Edward Lear, one of the poets who writes Limerick.

As you can see above, Lines 1,2 and 5 has the same rhyme those are Rhyme A, while Lines 3 and 4 are Rhyme B. We called them as Perfect rhyme or Eye rhyme.

I also made my own Limerick, actually I don't know how to start. Yes it sounds easy, but the most easiest thing is sometimes hard to start. 

There was a young boy named Alias

whose always won the Alas

and forget about his crush

wrote a love letter but put it in the trash

now the crazy boy, has always been Alias.

Lines 1,2,5 following the Rhyme Scheme of A ( Alias, alas, and Alias)

Lines 3 and 4 following the Rhyme Scheme of B ( crush and trash)

REVIEW: Etude House Dear Darling Tint No.2 in Real Red~

Hi Sweethearts!


Today's review is about Etude House Dear Darling Tint, and this is one of their bestselling products!

They have 3 shades I guess? The No. 1 which is Berry Red, No.2 which is Real Red and the last is No. 3 which is Orange Red.

For 1 bottle of it will costs you Php 248.00 not bad at all because you can use this for how many months. At the same time the color is very pigmented so 1 glide goes a long way.

So this is the swatch at the back of my hand, that is only 1 glide and not yet blended.

Then this is how it looks like once you blend it on your lips.

Here is my swatch on my lips. As you can see from bare lips it turned really red on the third picture. However, if you don't want that bright red you may do the "3 dots" on your lips to achieve a natural look.

So this is me, wearing a 1 layer of Etude House Dear Darling Tint No. 2 in Real Red.

Overall, I like it. It stays for how many hours, even you eat or drink the tint is still there. Also, 1 glide goes a long way, perfect for daily use.

Rating: 4/5

Will I re-purchase again? Definitely, Gonna buy plenty of this!

Pros: Very Pigmented, love the color, 1 layer is enough to cover the whole lips and to achieve the ideal red color, affordable and easy to find.

Movie 101: How do I unwrite the past?

Starting over again? I guess you know what is it, right? Well, it's a Filipino movie starring Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga.

I was thinking what movie should I review on, suddenly my mind falls under this movie.

The story starts when the student named Jinny (Toni Gonzaga) fell in loved with his professor named Marco (Piolo Pascual) since Student-Teacher relationship is strictly prohibited, they only became lovers when Jinny graduated in College. They became very sweet lovers which I guess that everyone dreamed of. They made every day special, they already think of their future, how many kids they want to have, where do they will live, and what things they want to achieve together.

Until one day, Jinny need to go in Barcelona to work there. However, she didn't tell Marco about this. Because her Mom told her so, then she left Marco, while Marco was chasing the cab where she's riding in, they we're both crying, Marco tried to stop Jinny but Jinny already made up her mind.

After how many years, they already became professionals, Jinny is already an Architect and Marco is already a Chef, then they suddenly met because of their friends that were planning to make another restaurant. For Jinny's part she's still expecting that Marco and she will be together again. However, Marco already has a girlfriend named Patricia (Iza Calzado) who is also a Chef but in the field of Baking, of course Jinny felt the ache in her heart. Because she was expecting that they will be re-united. But she's wrong. Sometimes expecting is some kind disappointing.

So she won't stop. She started to fling with Marco, seduced him. Unfortunately, she wasn't succeed. Until one day, they argued because Marco always keep on rejecting the proposals of Jinny with regards to the plan for the restaurant. Since Marco wasn't explain why he keep on rejecting..

 Jinny said "Sabihin mo nga sakin, ano!? I deserve an explanation!"  

Marco: "Anong karapatan mong hingin ang isang bagay na pinag damot mong ibigay?".. "I deserve an explanation, I deserve an acceptable reason!"

After how many days, Jinny confronted Patricia about her past relationship with Marco, Jinny also said that Patricia must leave Marco because she knew that they still love one another. But she was wrong, I guess they grew up already and know what true love means.

The restaurant is going to be finished very soon. But there are still debris that might fall. Due to the confrontation they had, they fought and fought. Until the debris fell on them. They both sent in the hospital. But Marco visited Jinny, to confront her about what is their real status. That they will no longer be together because he really loves Patricia, she accepted the truth and she now starts to move on.

That is the movie all about, we need to accept the fact first before we can move on, because if there is no acceptance happening, we cannot grow as a person. Another thing is that, sometimes sad ending is also applicable in one's life, it doesn't mean that you will become pessimist or what, but sad ending helps you realize what life really wants to offer you, and try to accept that if he/she is not for you, there are many fishes in the pond. So there's nothing to be worried about. 

We all know that moving on is not an easy thing to do, I know it's hard, we all experienced that. Especially if we are still hoping for nothing, but truth hurts, they said. But how can you make a new life, or new beginning if you're still waiting for someone who is uncertain.. Don't waste your time, you cannot undo the mistakes that you did. Be thankful because she/he became part of your life. You must accept the reality and don't let your fantasy bothers you, if she/he came back it means he/she is for you and if not. You must be happy with her/his life and that's what I called Moving On.. :)
